This blog post is about my first mentoring experience at Hack on Hills 4.0, the fourth version of the annual national-level hackathon organised by the Appteam at National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur. This year it was organized from 8th March 2019 to 10th March 2019.

The hackathon had 6 parallel tracks including Blockchain, Javascript/Webapps, AR/VR, AI/ML, IoT and general. About 250 developers/students from all over India(including students of NIT Hamirpur) gathered at this exciting happening with a motto #Hike #Hack #Hashtag.

On Day 1, We (Me and the other 3 GitHub Campus Experts) delivered the Keynote speech of GitHub.

On Day 2 & Day 3, We mentored the different teams working on interesting projects. There were other mentors too including Mr Santosh Vishwanathan (Mozilla Tech Speaker), who gave an interesting talk on Web Virtual Reality, & Mr Jatin & Vasudev from Coding Blocks.

The fun part was that I was being addressed as Sir by the students pursuing M.tech or those who were in their last year of undergraduate as they didn’t know I am junior to them.

It was really a great feeling to mentor teams on their projects from different parts of the country. I am really thankful to the lead organiser Sukhbir Jadaun for inviting me and GitHub for this opportunity to mentor the hackathon as a GitHub Campus Expert.
