Hacktoberfest’19
Hacktoberfest is a month-long celebration of open source software and bringing more contributors in Open Source. This year it was in partnership with DEV and Digital Ocean. Every year they ship out free Hacktoberfest shirts to thousands of people around the world.
This blog post is about the Hacktoberfest event organised by me at Jaypee University of Engineering and Technology on 12 October 2019. More than 250 students participated in the event and 90% of the students were new to git/GitHub & Open Source.
The first hour of the event we introduced Mozilla and Open Source and the workshop, as well as hands-on, took place for the next two hours. The students were very enthusiastic and at the end of the event, almost everyone had completed their first PRs. We also distributed snacks among all the participants.
Thank You.
